Week of Sept. 12

 

The threat of nuclear war is a major theme in science fiction written after World War II. What do you see as the major threat we face today? Briefly explain.

 

A threat that I think we are facing today is money problems. I think that because many people are losing thier jobs right now and they can't fing any other job, and if they do find a job it is not much what they are getting payed right now or it is temporary .

After the threat of WWIII, I'd say overpopulation or debt would be the biggest threat. We owe china over 1 trillion dollars! That's insane! Personally, I am just having this irrational fear of our nation being so in debt that the U.S.A collapses like ancient Greece. But then again, zombies are always an option...

A major threat now, personally I think is the world of underground sex trafficking and the drug cartel. why? because kids of all ages are brought into both, some are murdered and some even get their own families killed due to the importance of the narcotics. I mean important to the drug lords not to me me personally. also a giant raid from china could be a major threat, china could take over the U.S If they wanted.

In current times I fear that the major threat we can be facing is the rise of a new world war. With tensions rising everywhere with countries being incapable of paying off their debts, I would not be surprised if a country had to raise some red flags that will lead to a big war. Aside from the fact we may be heading to a great war, there is also the energy crisis and damaged economy that we may not be able to deal with, or fix entirely before its negative effects overtake us all.

In today’s century I believe that our biggest threat the face today is our national debt. We owe money to other states, education is becoming less important, and unemployment is getting higher. I believe if it is not fixed before our working time society is going to get worse.

I think that the biggest threat that we face today I think is terrorism because it is a constant battle that we face with the anniversary of 9/11 all of the constant threats of terrorism all over the world all the time.

I think that the biggest threat is the drug wars and the role of the children in the drug cartels. In Mexico and Colombia, 14 year-olds are recruited to be "spotters" for the drug cartels. They are also recruited to have decoy shootouts with the federal government. If this does not stop, we are facing a very difficult next generation.

I think that the biggest threat we face today is debt. So many people are losing their jobs and their houses due to some major buget cuts. Many people are now living on the street asking for money or even asking for a job. You see these poor people by gas stations and by freeways.

Something I would see as a major threat today would be global warming. We have a major tear in our atmosphere that is expanding. Our atmosphere is a shield that protects us from the sun, meteorites, and any debris in outer space. For example, in the early 2000’s NASA discovered a meteor that was close to impact with Earth. At the time we had a durable atmosphere which protected us from that, but now it has weakened and it may not be capable of protecting from future catastrophes like it used to.

I believe the biggest threat we have today is Global Warming, yes although war, debt, drugs etc, are big factors to hurting americas future we can control all of that with alot of work. But with Global Warming there is nothing we can do to stop it or control it.

I believe the biggest threat we face today is all the drug warfares going on around us. People and even children are being exposed to drugs and they become involed in these systems. This leads to people being killed including their families and friends. Not only that, but it is being transpoted to all places and leading others to get involved. More and more people are being killed due to this.

I believe that our biggest threat is another war probably with Korea since they have been experimenting with the missiles. Debt is also a big problem, if a country says they want their money and they want it now the we would be in big trouble.

I believe that our biggest threat that was face today is debt. We are in huge debt and that is causing people to lose their jobs and without jobs they cannot pay their bills, therefore that is causing many to people lose their houses. Many people today our homeless and living on the streets, struggling to survive and support their families.

I believe that one of our biggest threats is the economy. We have dug ourselves into a huge hole that is going to take a while to get out of. Even schools are facing problems like budget cuts. The economy is affecting a lot of people because they are either getting fired or laid off.

I believe that soon we will have another world war. there are a lot of tension building up in different places. such as Libya and the Eastern part of the world. we owe tons of country's millions and millions of money. i believe that America should try to worry about America first. once we have everything in order then we can help other country's. I'm not saying stop all the trading, but i think once we get ourselves into order then we will have a better chance of helping other country's and we will be able to pay off all of our debts.

I believe that a major threat we still face is terrorism. We just passed the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attack. I think that terrorists could be planning another attack on the U.S. While things have been peaceful in the U.S. since 9/11 I don't think that they are done just yet. They may have took out the twin towers with those two planes, but the one that landed in Pennsylvania was suppose to hit the White House. The way i see it is that they didn't complete the task they wanted to accomplish so they might try again.

I feel a problem we face right now is in the economy. For example: there is not enough jobs for everyone and everyday people are graduating all over the world. Due to this it might be difficult for many families to supply there children with their needs. A lot of people can not go out and buy a toy or something for fun because the money has to go to the rent or other bills. If we can somehow get the word that we should conserve energy or do other things to help save money, then maybe kids can get an allowance for themselves.

A problem we face today would be our unstable economy.Such as unemployment rate increase, forclosures, and bidget cuts. With our huge debt, we continue to create more problems for our country.The down fall of our economy, more people are being effected each year.

A major threat that our country we would be facing today would be our economy. It began in 2007 when mortgage lenders lent money to people to buy homes who couldn’t afford them. This caused many families to go into foreclosure because they weren’t able to pay them back thus they began to lose their homes, and basically all they had. This has been affecting millions of people year after year.

A major threat i see today would be China and terrorism around the world. China is growing pretty large and advancing so fast with their large land mass who really knows what they could do to us. In terrorism their could be some all over the world today in large cities where they could bled in. Both of these are threats cause they are unpredictable to what they will do.

I would have to say the economy is a big problem. I mean people are unemployed, and we owe China a ton of money. But because, i don't want to copy everyone else i'll say that global is another issue. It's happening everyday, but there isn't a plethora being done about it. The idea of choosing paper over plastic is an okay when it comes to being green. However, i have heard a lot about picking plastic over paper to save trees, but what is that about? I mean why don't we plant more trees. Oh, and obesity, that's an issue. People are being diagnosed with diabetes and are dying of stroke.

A major threat happening these days, in my opinion would be the economy. Many people are losing their their jobs which makes them not able to pay their bills, because of this many people are losing their homes and arent having anything really to eat or feed their families.

The economy, in my opinion is the biggest threat right now. People are losing their jobs and homes. This makes me wonder if it will ever get better, i've seen my own family struggle due to this, and soon Ii would like to get a job. If this doesnt get better soon how will I be able to get a job, pay for college, and eventually raise my own family?

A major threat we face today is the threat of attacks on our country. The war on terrorism is still raging on and they can get their hands on dangerous things to use to attack our country. Another possible threat of attack comes from North Korea and all of their nuclear bomb stuff that they have going on over there.

The biggest threat that we face right now is terrorism. Just a week ago we were remembering the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The hate that many countries have against us is a very dangerous thing because in any given moment, one of those countries can set up a plan to attack us.

The most biggest threat that I believe now would be global warming. So many trees and animal homes are being torned down just to make a new business or to make a new freeway. Many animals are almost to the point of becoming extinct and there is less water than there was before.

Of all the threats that are affecting some countries right now, the economy is threatening mostly all of the countries right now. The economy is the leading cause of the suffering of a gargantuan amount of people across the world. Greed, and the fight for money makes everyone lose their sane minds.

Everybody is saying how the economy or our government is the big issue, well I would would have to disagree. I think it is the media and the messages they put into the young adults heads. They can make a young women feel like they aren't good enough to live in this would. For an example, they can put pictures of really skinny beautiful girls on a magazines and they can cause emotional/phyisical pain. I personally believe that everyone is beautiful. The media should stop feeding these young kids negative messages because it is harming them and sometimes it goes to far that young teens will get mental disorders.

One major problem we face today are drugs and all the violence that comes with them. Drugs affect almost every one and brings terrible war to the streets, I which innocent people do end up getting injured. The narcotic is every where and affects are society in many ways, mainly by bring violence.

one major thing we are faceing today is an energy crisis what happens when we can no longer use gas or electricity we need to start putting plans in action. we need to start trying too save something for the generations too come. Because if we dont we will be tossed back into the dark ages and the world will stop spining.

One major thing I think we are facing today are over populated places or debt. We are in debt because we are paying over due taxes and paying taxes for OTHER people who i think is a big reason for our downfall in the money business. And with the over populated places we just have to many people coming here to find a job and thinking that they will find one when in fact not everyone now has a job to maintain.

One thing that I see as a threat now is the government. It can help our nation , and it can corrupt it. We never know what is to come when it comes to the government and their power over all of our societies. Many people are now deep into debt than they ever have been , and that is mainly due to the government taking our money and using it on pointless things.

A problem we are facing that I see as a threat is the water supply. In other states and countries it is hard to find clean water. People act like it will only happen in other countries but it can happen in our area as well. Because the project costs for cleaning and protecting water is quite pricey and money supply for these projects can run low.
