My favorite book changes extremely often depending on my mood, but this week it's probably Cell by Stephen King. I love almost everything I've read by Stephen King, I think he's a fantastic author. It is really easy to get lost in his works. I'm on kind of a horror kick, and I really like the sort of creepy atmosphere it sets. Plus, I feel kind of included when I read it, because Cell is about people turning into zombies due to a world-wide "pulse" that is sent through cell phones, and I detest cell phones. I also love it because it's about zombies, but it is still a brilliantly emotional story, and is void of annoying zombie cliches.

My favorite book is Night World by L.J. Smith. I like this book because it talks about witches, magic, dark angels, and werewolves. It talks about how all this creatures live, and how it is that they make themselfs bleend in with the humans. I also like this book because its fictional and it really makes reading be more interesting. The first part of Night World is about a dark angel who saves a girl named Gillian and convices her that he is a guardian angel throw out her High School years. Until the dark angel makes her hurt her friends. The secound part it talks about a girls that when she was a youth were killed by vampires. She spends her teen age years training and fighting vampires. Getting her revange on the vampire who killed her parents. Until she meets a guy named Quinn, who she falls in love with and finds his dark secreat. He is a vampire who is the son of the murderer of her parents. The third part talks about a girl named Hannah who resives and finds notes. With her writing and doesnt remember writing them. She goes looking for help to a friend. In the house of her friend a werewolf goes in the house and tries to attack Hannah. I love this book because it makes your feelings change from one momment to another. It is a very interesting book to read.

My favorite book that really touched me was Sort of Forever by Sally Warner. This book was had so much meaning to it. Sall Warner is an amazing author all her novels are so touching and litereal. Sort of Forever talked about two best friends that did everything together, but one summer one of the girls was dignosed with cancer. This didn't stop them from having the adventureous summer before it was too late. But it was too late and it was coming to the girls last stage; they both promised to be best friends forever. I liked this book because it shows that you should live life to your fullest with friends and family because you never know when its your time.

My favorite book that I can read over and over again and not get tired of it is The Hunger Games. I really loved it because it shows you U.S. in the future as 13 districts and the Capitol being the most powerful. The Capitol consists of the rich people and each of the 13 districts are known for their resources. For example district 11 is known for its agriculture and district 12 is known for its mining. The Capitol hosts the Hunger Games every year and when you turn 13 your name automatically goes into a raffle and from all the districts 1 girl and 1 boy are picked. In this book Katniss's (the main character) sister gets picked and in order to save her Katniss goes in her place. This book shows how Katniss survives throughout the Hunger Games because in the Hunger Games it is survival beyond the end.

My Favorite book is "The Color Purple". I love this book because it was extremely touching to me. Its based on a true sorty. Its about a young African american girl who gets raped by her father and eventually gets pregnant. She has the baby and ends up being forced to get married with a guy who can be her father. He is a whole lot older then her. She lives a very sad life and everyday she writes in her diary about how she feels and what she is going through living with this guy. Further more in the book she leaves her husband and trys to go and look for a better life she can have. I like it so much because this book explained how life can be to other people, its very sad to read and just imagine the horrible things a person can ever go through. It taught me some valuable lessons on life.

My favorite book is called "Deep Down Popular". Its mostly because it was one of my first novels to read for fun. I ended up liking it so much, I read it twice in a role. The book is about a girl named Jessie in the sixth grade. She is a tomboy and a loner. One thing that is similar between her and the other girls, is they all like a boy named conrad. One day he breaks his ankle and they are forced to hang out with each other. He ends up liking her and we all know the ending. Its an interesting and heartfelt book. It was one of the many books, that I remember the most. It wasnt boring. I still remember the first time I read it and every chapter I would get excited and read the next chapter.

One of my favorite books is pride prejudice and zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame- Smith. I think i read this in the seventh grade . If you pick up this book you will not be able to put it down. It is a bit confusing at first but if you buy the next few books it because more clear. There is nothing not to love in this book first its based in Victorian era not to mention it has zombies and ninjas!! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Believe it or not it is actually a part love story. This book could be a metaphor for how old ways are dead and the book being a New York times best seller is proof of that. but not all people like it a lot of fart and vomit humor but the is good try it trust me.

One of my favorite books are "Amy and Roger's Epic Detour" by Morgan Matson. I loved this book because of their adventure and friendship. Once you start you can't stop reading it! Its an amazing but sad story about a girl who loses her dad in a car accident, a brother whose in rehab, and to top it off she has to move and its her senior year. After going through all of this Amy is afraid to drive but her mom has a plan. Her friends son Roger will drive Amy over there. During , there ride over they learn about each others lives and find out the meaning of a friend and relationship.

There are infinitely many righteous books that exist in this world and many more still to be written. The most righteous in my opinion is Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. This heart-warming, tear-excreting novel was about a young boy, Billy, working his limbs off for these two hunting dogs he named Old Dan and Little Ann. They go on some hunting adventures and then the climax occurs and stuff. I refuse to ruin it. The reason why I like this book is that the book brings you to the point of yelling "yeah!" and then you want to cry and say words that I cannot even type. Or pronounce.
Wesley Smith, Period 4 (the best!)
My favorite book of all time is Ruined by Paula Morris. It is about a girl name Rebecca who just moved in with her aunt and cousin because her dad is away in China. Rebecca is not good at making friends but for her to randomly meet a girl in a grave yard is pretty exciting to me. It turns out the girl is a ghost. This book is amazing, with a plot twist you would never see coming unless you read ahead. The book is spine tingling, spooky, and over all is a major cliff hanger.

My favorite book is The Cay by Theodore Taylor. I read this book in the seventh grade for a book project . The Cay is about a young white boy named Phillip getting stranded in an island along with an old black man named Timothy. In the story Phillip is blind so he's mostly depending on Timothy in order to survive. The climax in the story is when a hurricane hits the island and ends up killing Timoty. Luckily Phillip survives and is eventually rescued and taken home. When I chose that book to do may book project on I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a good book.

My favorite book is SATCH AND ME, by Dan Gutman. It is a book about a kid traveling back in time to see baseball players play. Satchel Paige was the one that he wanted to see play. Satchel was a pitcher who played in the nigro leauge. Back then nigros couldent play in the majors just because of there color. The boy goes on a journey with Satchel just to get to a baseball game. They drove to a game, but on the way they ran into trouble with white folks. Thankfully they got out unharmed. I like this book because it tells you what happened back then to people just because of there race. It is also about baseball, and I like baseball to.

One of my favorite books is Keeper by Mal Peet. This book is about a boy who played soccer, he wasn't very good at it though. He contemplated whether or not to keep on playing soccer because he was a horrible field player. He finds his answer when he walks into the forest and he sees the ghost of a goalkeeper from a team that disappeared in a plane crash. He then is trained by the ghost and becomes the best goal keeper in the world. His team ends up going to the world cup final and wins it but he then finds out some bad news, his father was killed. After he hears this terrible new he ends up giving up on soccer. The reason why its one of my favorites is because my favorite sport is soccer.

One of my all time favorite books is The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank. This book had a lot of meaning and it made me appricate my life today. I think the reason i really enjoyed reading this book was because i could relate to her as a teenager. All the hormones and thought she had were all normal for her. I thought is was very sad that she had to stay in a attic and they had to be dead silent all day until the workers went home. I could never do anything liek that so she is like a hero to me becuse of the fact that she did that.
Ra'Jhon S. P.5
My favorite book is Hero by Mike Lupica. I just recently read this book right before school started. It was about a little boy named Zach Harriman who inherits super powers from his dad. In this story there apparently can be only one super hero in the world at a time. So when his dad dies he suddenly begins to gain super powers. The antagonists of the story are "the bads" and Zach has to figure out who to trust because they try to trick him onto their side. I personally enjoyed the story because I thought it was a good story about heroism and trust. In the end he realizes who he is loyal to and overcomes the the challenge of losing his father taking on his father's role.

My favorite book that I really liked was Forever By: Judy Blume. I really like this book because, it’s just about teenagers having fun and being in love. Katherine was a senior girl that liked this boy named Michael. There relationship unfolds very fast they were going out for about seven months until Katherine and Michael were separated for the summer because of work that takes them to two different states. While Katherine is a summer camp for work she meets a tennis instructor much older than her named Theo, she starts to like him more then Michael and decides she was going to break up with Michael for Theo. One day Michael surprises Katherine by arriving to her job without her knowing, that’s when she decides to break up with him. When I first read this book I couldn’t stop reading it because it had so much detail in it that I felt like if I was there. So from all the book I’ve read this has been the best one.

Its tough to choose my favorate book. My favorites are decided by what the book can change, mean, or relate to. "The Chocolate War" Robert Cormier had a well inspiring touch to it. There is so many meanings in that book that literaly every reader could get a different opinion on the book. In this book there is a certain level of violence and scenes that may be seen as completely uneaded material. However Since this book is banned it doesnt mean that it's a terrible book. It just means that certain people don't see the meaningful value of the book. I like this book because of the deep thought of meaning it takes to understand the book. It may have been a while since ive read the book but I still remember key parts when characters were tricked and fought. The Vigils who had quite a bit of power had many victims in what they seemed to be doing, was it for good? I was interested in the book because of how the story quikly turns. the book has the most meaning out of all the books I've read so far.

My favorite book would be Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews. This book is about four children who had the ultimate life; money, friends, and two loving parents. But when their father dies they are forced to move across country to their evil grandparents' house, where they find out the haunting secrets of their mother's past. While living there they were confined to one room in a house of about two hundred, and were brought their meals. And if they did anything against their demented grandmother's will they were to be punished in ways that were unimaginable. At one point in the book the older brother see's the older sister naked, the grandmother witnessed it and decided to cut off the girl's hair. They also realize their mother is not what they always believed her to be, and she would soon abandon them to be tortured forever. This is a good book because it is suspenseful, romantic, and all together interesting.
-Ally Hovencamp, period 6
My favorite book would be The outsiders by S.E Hinton. This book talks about two gangs the Greasers and the Socs. Their both rivals the greasers seem to live in the poor part of the town and the socs in the rich neighborhood. Well the whole story is mainly about how one of the Socs tried jumping one of the greasers and then one of the greasers friends kills the socs which back then makes him most wanted so both of those 15 year old boys had to run away to another town and hide. Since they left more problems seemed to come to them which caused one of them death. I dont want to write anymore because i might just ruin what else might come into that book. But this book amazed me, it kept me interested throught the whole thing. I just couldnt put the book down. These are the kind of books i like the ones that make you think whats going to happen next. I am truly in love with it.

Of all the books I've read, I'd have to say that Number the Stars by Lois Lowry is my favorite. When my sixth grade reading teacher assigned it as summer reading, I thought it was going to be another dumb Holocaust book, because we had read so many of them so far. As soon as I opened it and read the first couple pages, I just could not out it down. I felt as if I was in the story, I wanted to help the girl so much, but I couldn't. The setting in my head was so great, and I felt like i was running through the forest with the characters. I really enjoyed it because it is the only book I didn't set down until I was finished. It really impacted me, and the Holocaust is one of my favorite moments in history. I recommend it to everyone; it really touched me.

My favorite book of all times is The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cormwell. I've started this book this summer and it is a really great book. It talks about a boy named Uthred and how his life changes when he is soon captured and adopted by Viking chieftan Earl Ragnar ( who almost conquored all of England) in Northumbria in the year 866-867 A.D. As I started to read, it mentions alot of famillier names and places in the last book I read called Bloodlines. The reason why I like this book is because I like to read about anciet history no matter where its from. I am still reading this book and so far the only person how can stop Earl Ragnar is the Anglo-saxon King Alfred the Great in Wessex. Uthred is being torn apart whether he should still be a daneish soldier in Ragnars army or fight with King Alfred and win England back. This is why I like this book so much.

I have to admit, I do not read that much. But, the last book I read, I liked it. It was called "The Five People You Meet in Heaven". I can not say that it was my All Time Favorite, but I did enjoy it. It is about a man who works at an amusement park and saves a little girl who was about to die, but saving her, he ended up dying. When he gets to "Heaven", he is told that he wil meet five people who were important to him and ended up saving him, by dying. He goes on this adventure and meets all these people including his wife, who had died before him of cancer. They explain to him how they died and how it affected his life. I liked this book because I liked to hear all the stories of people who changed one man's life so that he could be the person he was in the end. The man then realized that saving the little girl was the right choice and that it was important that she lived.

There are many books that I love, but my favorite one is Flying Changes by Sara Gruen, it is about a devorced mother and her fears of her daughter following in her foot steps of jumping horses at an olympic level. Ever since the mother's horrid accident she is resistant to allow her rebel daughter to be at risk of being in an accident on horse back. Eva the daughter gets the chance to train for a famous horse farm and the mother unwilling allows her daughter to carry on with it to keep her out of trouble at home. During all this the mother is trying to spark up a romance of her own, but her fears of commitment and worries of her daughter started to weigh on her relationship. To add to the fear and anxiety the mother's ex-husband and his family get in a car accident forcing them to make life changing decisions. I love this book because it brings real life into it and just when you think all hope is lost something amazing happens.

My favorite book would have to be Blood and Chocolate By Annette Curtis Klause. This book was about a sixteen year old girl named Vivian. Vivian seemed like your average teenage girl. She was smart, beautiful and had many friends, but there was much more to her than that. Vivian was a teenager by day and a werewolf by night. In the story, Vivian falls for a human boy, Aiden. She begins to fall in love with him,and doesnt know is she should tell him the truth for fear of losing him. In the end Vivian is faced with the decision which life is more important to her, her mother and her pack or Aiden. She must make her decision fast though because their secret is slowly being uncovered as towns people begin to start dissapearing. I loved this book because, even though she is a werewolf, she still had to deal with teenage decisions. I have never been so interested and truely amazed by a book as much as I was by this one. In the end Vivian makes her decision on which one tastes better, Blood or Chocolate!

My favorite book is Peanut Butter Rhino by Vincent Adriani. I really love and enjoy reading this book because it brings back happy memories of my mother and I. She used to read this to me before i went to sleep and she still does (when she can remember, haha). It's about this rhino who packs a lunch for two and ends up losing one of his sandwiches and that sandwhich was for his best friend Elephant! So he goes across the land and forest to find this sandwhich for Elephant and when its time to meet up for lunch he has to bring the bad news. Luckily, his best friend packs and extra one and finds his sandwhich for him. His sandwhich ends up being on his butt, squished! Now that he is gone Phillip has to manage to survive on the cay by himself and his cat. one day as he was walking in the cay he was attacked by birds and was stabbed in his eyes and he turns blind. As days pass he still manages to to stay alive by eating fish and drinking coconuts. On day he hears an airplane and manages to capture its attention and is rescued from the cay and is taken safely to his home. the reason i enjoyed this book was because even after he had lost his vision he was still able to remember was Timothy had showed him and apply them to stay alive!

My favorite book is National Velvet by Enid Bagnold. The book was about a young girl who wanted a jumping horse. She had one other horse but that one was an old pony. One day in town a local man was raffeling off his gelding. The only reason why the man did such a thing was because his horse always got lose. Velvet (the young girl), won the raffle and now owns her horse, pie. She began to do a lot of jumping and got help from this man she called Mi. After a long while of nothing but practice she made it to the finals and it was up to her to win it. The only problem was that she was a girl and was not allowed to ridein the finals. After a couple of stunts and a good friend she was able to ride in the race. What she own is freedom, that even though she was a female that did not stop her from making history.

My favorite book at this moment is "Prisoner of Azkaban" written by J.K Rowling, the entire series is wonderful, but since I would have to choose one book it would be "Prisoner of Azkaban". The reason being is she has such amazing writing skills, an example is when she was describing a rouge game of Quidditch, I had really scene all the fowls and all the little details in my head. Rowling really puts you into the book as an observer you get to see Draco's embarrassment as he runs off after he gets punched by a Mudblood, and you feel Ron's fear when he is being dragged by a large black dog into a burrow under a vicious tree. Whether you like the story line or not, by the end of reading any of the books in this series, you would understand why it is such a big deal to some people.

What no one really knows about him is that he is really smart and wants a better future than just being a gang member. Brittany Ellis however is the rich head cheer leader who cares about what everyone thinks about her including her parents what they don't know is that she had way more problems going on in her home life. On the first day of their senior year they have conflict with eachother and hate eachother. That same day they are forced to be Chemistry partners for the rest of the year. Alex and his friends make a bet they told Alex that if he slept with Brittany by Thanksgiving he would get his friends car and if he lost he would have to give his friend his most prized possetion his motorcycle. Brittany realizes that Alex is really smart and has so much in commom with her. Brittany stops carring about what evone else thinks and Alex tries to get out of the gang after he slept with Brittany for the first time and realized he loved her. I loved this book so much because the author makes you feel like you’re one of the characters. I loved the way I felt connected with the characters and I even felt like I was watching a movie. This book was emotional for me it is the first book that actually made me cry.

Even though I'm not much of a reader, I would have to say my favorite book is ''The Diary of Anne Frank'', by Otto H. Frank. I'm very interested in the events during the Holocaust so this book really got my attention. This book is about a little girl who is forced to go hide with her family for months. Her whole childhood was tooken away from Anne only because she was Jewish. During the time she was hiding with her family and other friends from the Nazis, she wrote in her diary to keep her from getting bored or keeping her emotions all bottled up inside. She went through many hard thing during the war, but this book helps you notice how important life is. This book really made you imagen every little picture in your head. One of my all time favorite books is "The Last Song" written by Nicholas Sparks. This is a romance book and has been made into a major motion picture. This book is about a girl named Ronnie who was a bit of a rebel and has lost her path in life. Her parents had gotten a divorce and that really effected her life. For a long time she did not make an effort to have any contact with her father until her mother made Ronnie and her brother spend the whole summer with their dad. Ronnie alienated herself from him and didn't rejects her father's efforts to try and reach out to her. Her whole attitude changed however when she met Will. Will was a guy that she ended up falling in love with and she changed her world. However in the end a tragic thing happened, Ronnie's dad ends up dying and there was much pain and sorrow. I liked this book because it just drew me in with interest. I found it an interesting book to keep on reading and also I like all the books that Nicholas Sparks writes.

One of my favorite books of all time is It Happened to Nancy edited by Beatrice Sparks. This book is about a 14 year old girl who falls for a guy much older than her, is raped by him, and then later dies due to the cost that he infected her with AIDS. This book is one of my favorites because it made me realize I need to be careful, and be less gullible. I would like to believe that everyone in the world, and everyone I know is a good person, but people surprise you. Nancy's experience with this illness helped me see that I am too young to "fall in love" and give my all to a guy I may not end up with. People out there will manipulate you, and they will use you to their advantage. Some people may seem perfect, but I, along with everyone else in the world should be more aware of who we consider friends. I am glad "Nancy" shared her story with the world because this makes more people aware. It made me aware. It's a terrible thing to have happen to you, but I learned from it.

My favorite book would have to be A Child Called: It. This book is my favorite because it portrays the life of many people who live or have lived in a abusive household and do not dare to open up as adults or as kids. This book has many gruesome events that show how hard it is to live in a household tough household where you have no control. I took it as a way to appreciate what I have now and my family and the life that I live. The story follows this young boys life and shows how he went from being vulnerable and fragile in a tough home to being a strong and successful man.

My favorite book would be The House on Mango Street, because this book talks about different stories in every chapter. For example, one of the chapters talk about how a girl went to the fair and her friend left her alone and she got raped by a man. Each story is different and sends a different messege. I like this book because how i said it talks about different stories in every chapter so you dont get bored of reading about the same thing. I also like it because the stories were different, and you could learn something from each one.

My favorite book is “A Child Called IT” by Dave Pelzer. This book is such an emotional story and quite disturbing. You will be extremely surprised about the things that a mother is capable of doing to her own child. A Child Called IT is about a young boy named Dave that was practically treated as if he was a mistake and should have never been brought into this world. Up to the age of three Dave was treated like any other young child; with love and safety from his mother. However by the age of three all those feeling changed. Dave then felt as if he had no one and was filled with fear from his own mother. She would make him cook, clean, throw the trash out, things that an adult should be doing not a young child. If his mother would get home and nothing would be done he would be in trouble. When Dave would be in trouble it wouldn’t be trouble like he was grounded. No, he would get beat, be starved for days, and o ther extreme and severe punishments. Dave would go days without eating that he was so hungry he will eat the left overs that his mother would throw to the trash. There were day’s wen Dave would go to school with bruises and would lie about them saying he fell, but in reality he was getting them from his mother abusing him. She would also do things to him like make him eat his own vomit, swallow soap, ammonia, and even Clorox. She even tried to burn him on the stove, but Dave stalled his mother so he wouldn’t have to be burned.

I did not want to put the book down, Once I started reading it, I could not stop. It was very enteraining. Especially since it was based on a true story. I did find some of the parts in the book to be very sad. For example, when the lady was getting beat up by her husband. Or when he would sexually abuse her. When I read those parts, I felt very sad, I did not want to stop reading because I wanted to find out what was going to happen to her. I loved the ending because she was finally happy.

Do the media confuse love and lust? How do you know the difference?
Yes, the media confuses love by showing couples (celebrity couples) in the world that might show love, but in reality it's all for their own pleasure and lust. For example, Madonna and the young men she dates. That's not love and i know that because the way the media presents it and describes and shows pictures of them. On the other hand we have a couple like Khloe Kardashian-Odom and Lamar Odom. They always show affectionate love towards one another and it's very convincing.
Gabriella A. 6th period
Yes, it confuses love and lust because it will show couples who say that it was "love at first
sight". I, sadly, do not believe in love at first sight, I do believe in lust at first sight. It seems impossible that someone can lay eyes on another person for the first time ever and fall in love. It is entirely possible to lay eyes on someone and fall in love with their looks, which is lust. I know the difference because love is truly caring for someone, inside and out, and not putting their looks before their personality. Lusting over someone is when you like them for their looks, and could care less about their personalty, providing they look good.
-Ally Hovencamp, Period 6<3
Yes, the media does confuse love with lust. The way they confuse this is by showing couples being together so they say that they love each other and everything. They think they are showing love to one another when they really are together for their own pleasure and lust. Some people especially teens are the ones who do this. Just because they see some guy or some girl that they think have a nice body or are good looking , they right there and then say or think that they have fallen in love at first sight. But really they feel lust. They didn't fall in love with the person they fall in love with their physical. Many people confuse very easily, and they do wrong because when they actually do feel love for someone they cant stop feeling lust for someone else. Also there falling in love is something i think it not right. The reason i believe it not right is that falling in love is something that sooner or later the feelings are going to die. Its better to be in love with the person to love them for who they are and not for what they are. I believe its better to learn to love then to love at first sight.

The media i beleive does confuse love with lust alot. Some people think that they are immediately in love with someone when actually its lust they feel. Falling in love with someones looks or by just meeting them is not love. Love is much deeper and has a much stronger bond than lust. Today many teens think they are in love with a girl that they have just meet. Love takes time to develop, lust does not. Many of these good looking celebs actually I beleive get married to fast, because they think that their in love. When actually they just have lust built up which will eventually come crashing down. Love will rarely come to a hault because truthfully love never dies. You can only fall in love with ones personality not their looks. For example many people lust Rihanna or Kim Kardashian you can't fall in llove with these people unless you actually know them personally.
Wayne Keithley, period 4 :D
I think the media is confusing love and lust. I believe this because some celebrities get together but its just to get more publicity. They also do this in movies and TV that people meet and then instantly fall in love with each other. without even saying a word to each other. I think love doesn't happen instantly but instead it takes time. So most of the time they have a guy fall in love with a girl but this is usually just based on looks and has nothing to do with love. So I believe that you have to know a person for a long time in order to fall in love with them otherwise it's just lust.
Victor J Period 4
I do think that the media does confuse love and lust. To me, loving someone is a feeling you to someone who is eternally there for you, no matter what. But lust, is a huge difference. Lust can be defined as having a strong sexual desire towards someone. Having lust is not always a bad thing, but should never be considered "loving" someone. The media strongly gets the two mixed up or confused very often. I think that many people have lust towards one another and do not always realise it. They may say "love at first sight." Say this does not make sense, because how would you consider loving someone when you see them for the first time? It just does not make sense to me.
Paige A. Period 6
Yes i think that the media confuses lust with love. When i think of love its the old couples that have been together most of there life's at that point there no lust left but they stay together though thick and thin but celebrities are nothing like that they are found at motels doing drugs just for the attention. I don't think the media dose not know the differences but i think they know its just more interesting if there in love rather than celebrities having cheep worthless sex in some hotel. But whose to say if love is relay love maybe its just lust and love are two half's of the same face perhaps love was made up to sell books or to make a interesting story.
Dante F P.6
Lust and love. Only ones who know true love can tell the difference. Those who can't probably the ones affected by the media. The media uses the term love, in a way that it does not have the intended meaning. They manipulate peoples mind to think that looks are the meaning of love, when lust is all that people do. Lust and love are two completely different feelings. Love goes deep within oneself, it can be so deep that it hurts, however lust does not go anywhere near the heart or soul. Lust only concerns the outside appearences of a man or womean, when love bonds people together. You need looks in order for lust to happen, and you need heart and personality for love to happen.
-Hector A. period 4
Love and lust are two things that are in the media everyday. People may not realize it but every time they watch a informational commercial about love and lust they are being convinced that what ever the television is telling them love and lust is, is what it really is. I believe that the media does make people forget or convinces them to believe that love and lust is something that it really isn't. Only someone that has experienced both of these things would be able to tell if the media is correct in what they are saying. People know the difference when they have experienced it for themselves.
Jesus D. P.4
I do think that the media does confuse love and lust because the media doesn't know what is really going through some ones mind unless they come right out and say like " Hey I love him because he's sweet and hes's really funny." That doesnt always happen though. If you do lust over someone your not really in love with the person your lusting over, you like their body or their hair or any phsyical appearance they have. The difference is plain and simple to love someone you have to like something about them other than their appearance, for example their personality but to lust over somone you like their smile for example.
Kayley H. Period 6 :D
Love and lust. Media always seems to confused it because many don't know the feeling of loving or being lust. Loving is beyond all those feelings that you feel inside. You have butterflies everyday, you think about them constantly. You don't care how they look in the morning or if their breath stinks, you just love them for who they are. Lust on the other hand is when you fall in love with their looks. You care if they look all ugly in the morning. You just want the pleasure from them. The difference is simply in the eye of the person in love or just in lust. I would tell you the difference between them but i still have to experience love and lust. I can't compare something i haven't felt yet.

I think the media does confuse love and lust because love as an emotion and lust is just a sexual desire. I think the person involved in this confusion is the only one that can decide whether its love or lust. The media can guess about

Yes, I believe the media confuses love and lust. They show that people fall in love as soon as they see someone for example " love at first sight." However there is a difference saying its love at first sight or saying its lust at first sight. I don't believe in love at first because you can't possibly fall in love with someone just by looking at them and not knowing what they are about or who they are. This wouldn't be love it would actually be lust because they just love what they see like the body figure and style; their appearance. Love is much more than just looks. When you are in love with someone it's because you love them for them, for who they are, and their personality. You absolutely truly care about the person, inside and out, and would do whatever it takes to keep them happy. When you are lusting over someone you don't care to know the person for who they truly are, all you seem to care about is there looks and nothing else.

Yes, the media does confuse love with lust constantly! The media always shows couples that are all "lovey dovey and supposibly are in love, when in reality most of it is just the lust love. When I hear the words "famous love" I immediatley think of Beyonce and Jay-Z. With or without the cameras in there face you can tell that they are deeply inlove with one another. Lust love is a sexaul desire. Love is when you have this amazing feeling when your with someone; you can act yourself when your around them and know that they'll always be by your side.Lusting and love are aways getting mixed up . Theirs a big difference between the both!
-Brianna Valentin P.4
Yes, the media does very much so confuse love with lust. Love and lust are two completely different things and the media now is basically saying that they are the same. When you are in love, it means that you are in love with the person and who they are. Not that you are in love with the sexual actions that occur between you and that person. The media shows lust and portray it as if it was love. They show it as if you desire lust that you are also desiring love. When really lust is all about sexuality and love does involve some sexuality however it is so much more then that. The media though shows couples who are in nothing but pure love and you can tell who those couples are. They also show some couple that it just seems like its all about lust and they say its love. People do know the difference between love and lust and I believe that they can see how the media is confusing the two.

Yes, the media does confuse love and lust all the time. Simply by the way a celebrity couple is portrayed. For example one day the couple seems to be perfectly "in love", then a few magazines later one is cheating on the other. Genuine true love is rarely shown in the media and they make it as is if you have to be drop dead gourgoues to be loved. Love is not how a person looks or dresses. It simply stands by do not judge a book by its cover, because love is behyond the appearance. True love is loving someone for their personality , they make you laugh, bring you joy, and you would do anything for that person. Love does not come with strings attached, it is not what a person gives to you, but what that person means to you. When a person truely love somebody they see past the flaws and imperfections and they stand by each other through thick and thin. Lust on the other hand is all based on appearance and its a heat of the moment kind of thing. Lust breaks down leaving a person feeling used and empty. While love remains strong, careing, comforting and everlasting. Instead of producing the truth of love the media would rather feed people lies.
Charlene H. Period. 4
I think the media does confuse them. Love is a tender, passionate affection. Lust on the other hand is a strong sexual desire.

Yes I think that the media confuses love and lust because love and lust for me has two different completely meanings. The word love has been manipulated into something that is mostly known as lust. They have used up the words love so many times that peoples minds have been believing lust is really love. When in reality its not , its just a temporary thing. The reason why most people actually believe it is beause they probably havent experienced both so they most likely think that lust is love,

Yes i do think the media confuses love and lust. For example they show couples on t.v that say they are in love but there just really together for the attention, and in the end they are really all about lust. Love is a connection between you and your partner that should be hard to break, and lust is a sexual desire.
Marvin C. Per, 6
To be honest, i beleive the media does confusse love the lust. How can someone confusse love with lust, there is clearly a huge differance. For an example you always hear on the news that celebrities claim their in "love." Then the next thing you hear is that their broken up because one of them cheated on the other one. So there was no lve between them in the first place, all there was was lust. Then you watch a T.V show like desperate housewifes and all of those women are lusting after men. It is a descusting show to watch all those women and men lust after eachother and then say that their in love.
- Erica Hall per. 6 ***
Yes, the media does confuse the two. The reason I say this is because when some artist comes out with a song about love it is usually more about sex then about the emotion of love. Many shows also portray sexual interest saying it is love, which begins to confuse small children. It is unfortunate that today children are beginning to believe lust is love, due to the media mixing the two up.

I think the media does confuse love and lust a lot. Love is actually being there for someone when he/she needs you the most and its not just a 2-3 week thing. Lust is craving for the other person. Many celebrities say that they are in love when they are actually just in lust. The media shows that one day two celebs are going out and the next they break up because they find out that they like someone else or that they don't like the other person because maybe the other person is not what he/she thought he/she was. Also when people lust they just get tired of their partner and break up for the little lest things. When your in love you don't care how the other person dresses or if they look good with make-up on or not. The media confuses a lot of people on those two words.

In my opinion the media does confuse love with lust beacause most times celelbrity couples are not even in love. I hate the fact that they act like they are in love when really its just lust. Love and lust are two things that are totally different things. Lve is a relationship btween two people who plan on spending the rest of their lives togther. Lust is just a sexual desire. I dont understand how poeple can mistake those two for something else.
Ra'Jhon S. Period 4
Like my class mates above, I do agree that the media does confuse love with lust. Lust does involve sexual "lusts", which is why the word is "lust". In addition to that, it also takes no time at all for lust to affect our minds. Love, however, takes eons to be implanted in our minds.
Wesley Smith, Per 4 ☺
I strongly believe the media does confuse love with lust. Many people believe they have fallen in love with someone in just a short amount of time, in reality all they feel is lust. I believe many people misinterpret the real meaning of love and lust. It takes an abundance of time to fall in love with someone, it does not just happen overnight. Lust does not need time, you can develop that feeling for someone anyday at anytime, because it is a sexual desire. Falling for someone's looks is not the same as falling for someone's personality. Love is true and pure, it is not based on looks. When you love someone you truly care about them, you do not care about their looks, instead you care about who they are.
-Elsie G. Period 6 (:
Love and Lust seem to get confused a lot. I personally don't know the meaning of either when it comes to relationships. I do believe that the media confuses them though. Love I believe is truly caring for someone out of kind-ship while lust is desiring or longing for something. Love is positive while lust can be both positive or negative depending on certain circumstances. In love you put your partners needs before yours and lust is more selfish than loving. In my opinion the media confuses the two because they observe others, they don't get to experience what celebrities or other people are truly feeling.
- Daisy R. Period 4
I believe that the media confuses these two all the time. They do it because they want a story. They are willing to say or make up something that may be half true seem like something completely different. That is why you can't believe everything you read or hear. The media is always twisting stories to make it seem more interesting. They say two people are in love when really they may only see each other as co-stars who played lovers in a movie. Or if not that, one person may make a comment about someone else's appearance and the media will make it seem as if they are a couple. The meaning of lust and love couldn't be more farther apart in meaning. Love is when you truly care about someone and plan to be with this person for the rest of your life. You look past everything else and love them for who they are inside and not just because of looks or appearance. On the other hand lust is nothing more than a sexual desire. You don't plan on having a long term relationship or think about spending the rest of your life with them. You are only with this person for their appearance or maybe even for their money. You have no love interest in them what so ever. These two words are very different in meaning but seem to be mistaken all the time. The media will always continue to use the wrong one because they know it's what the people want to hear. They go to outrageous limits to get a good story and say two people are in love when really they are just friends or play that role of lovers in a movie
- Olivia A, Period 4 .
I believe the media does confuse the words lust and love. Love is a connection between you and your partner that is passionate and includes a desire to spend every second of their lives together. However, lust is only a strong sexual desire. Yes love can include having intimacy with your partner but it comes with feeling and emotions. Lust is more about receiving sexual gratification with no strings attached. Which means no emotions flowing between the couple.
-Katherine V.
period 4
I believe the media does confuse lust and love. Love is something beautiful , something two people feel for eachother. Love is passionate , a beautiful feeling. No other person can make a person feel that way but that one certain man/woman does. Love can include having intimacy, but most people confuse the meaning of love with lust. all people think about is sex. Of course a couple can have intimacy but that only comes with emotion, feeling, and TRUE love. However lust is just a sexual desire and most people describe love as being lust. Lust has no emotions going on through a couple it is like a force between the two. Lust is only a game, most peole dont talk love seriously and their only desire sex.
-Denise C.

Yes, the media does confuse love and lust because they have two completely different meanings. Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment to a person. Lust means emotional force that is directly doing with the thinking of ones desire, usually in a sexual way. Some couples for example think they have love but what they really have is lust because if a guys tells a girl he fell in love right when he first saw her then its not love its lust because you cant fall in love by just looking at a person it takes time talking and knowing each other more.

Yes, the media definitely does confuse love and lust. They also do it for their own benefit too, because then they can appeal to things that love doesn't. Love is when you care for somebody so much you will literally do anything, endure anything and say anything for them. It also is when you look past the outside of people and look at their inside and who they are. Lust is simply a sexual desire or drive. When you have lust for someone you care about their body and looks not about them.
-Jasper A, Period 4
Yes, the media does confuse love and lust, same with a lot of people in the world. Love and lust are two entirely different meanings. Love is a very deep and strong emotion which shows how much you care for someone. Lust in the other hand is different in several ways, lust is a thought in someones mind not an emotion in their heart which is usually only about sexual desire.
-Oscar Lozoya, Period 4
Yes,I think the media confuses love with lust. These words are totally opposites they mean different things, and I don't think the media is the only one who gets these to words mixed up. Love, is a feeling, you want to be with someone non-stop you can't stop thinking of that person and wish you were with that person. When your in love you probably won't know but you will definitely feel it. The thing is that at my age most teenagers don't know what they want and don't understand what they feel. Lust, is when you sexualy desire someone you don't really love that person but are physically atracted to them. This is one a lot of people confuse they are attracted to there physical atributes and definitely not their feelings.
-Luisa C. P. 6
Yes. love and lust are confused big time. Love is the emotion or heart that you have for and individual. Lust is what you thing about a an individual, not what you truely feel for one. The media mixes these two words up a lot with celeberties. They say that someone loves someone else, but it is usually not true. They just try to start controversy with the celeberties. But it is truly only lust not love.
Michael D. p.4
Love and lust are always being confused in the media. Love is what you feel to another person, and lust is the affection with the person you love. The media is always saying celebrities are in love with each other, when they post the pictures of the couple, you don't see love you see lust. To lust is to have an affection on the person you love. Loving someone is your feelings to a person.
Darby B. P.4
I think the media definitely confuses love and lust. They are two separate things that have very different meanings. Love is an emotion where you have strong feelings for another person and you actually care about them. However, what you see on TV is like the opposite. They show their viewers that love is just about finding that person who is good looking with the nice bodies and only use them for pleasure. That is lust, wanting so much what you don’t have and only basing it upon what’s on the outside. That’s not reality, and it’s not love.
Breanna V. P.4
Yes, the media confuses the meaning of love and lust. Love is when you have strong affection towards another person. Lust is just a sexual desire towards another person. The media makes people think love is lust, they only look at the exterior of a person, they do not look at the most important part of a person which is the inside of a person, what they truely are. <3
Vanessa Gonzalez P6
I do believe the media confuses love and lust. Love is more of the deep affection someone gets when they love someone. Lust is more of a sexual affection towards someone. Television is the main source that confuses them. They show people who they just met and turn it to lust rather than love. This is what happens in many other different Medias. Most things shown in magazines and Television, are not real. They want people to think there life is like that, when in reality its not.

Can you think of a time when your intellect was more important than your physical strength? If not, give an example from a book, comic, or movie.
The time that my intellect is stronger than my strength would be in school. In school you can be wimpy but smart and get good grades while if your strong it is completely useless in something like math. The only time being strong is an advantage in school would be in PE class but other than that it's not useful. In the other hand being smart would be in every class especially math.
