What was your favorite scene in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"? Briefly explain why.
i liked the scene where bottom, with the head of a donkey, was avoided because of his appearance. every one ran away from him, but he didn't know why. I thinks its funny because he never knew he had the head of an ass, and no one told him.
hector A. P.4
I liked the scene where the four lovers were all mixed up and no body really liked who they were supposed to. I liked this scene because it was funny and sad at the same time. No bod, accept for Hermia was truely in love.
Ally Hovencamp, p.2
My favorite scene from, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", is the end where the mechanicals act the play, "Pyramus and Thisbe". I thought it was hilarious how dramatic Bottom was being and when he would talk to Theseus while the play was going on. Also when Bottom and Thisbe stabbed themselves with their alliteration and repition. The play itself was a hot mess.

My favorite scene from "A Midsummer Night's Dream", is when Robin put the love potion over Lysander's and he falls in love Helena, when he actually loves Hermia! I thought the seen was funny because even though he was telling Helena he loved her she responded in a confused expression. Also, he was insulting Hermia, when the potion was making him act the way he did.
STEVEN RODRIGUEZ, PERIOD 4
My favorite scene from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is when all four of the lovers all mixed up. Espically after Robin puts the potion on Lyssander because afterwards both guys were in love with Helena. While Helena though it was a joke and then Hermia thinks Helena is the worst friend ever because both guys are in love with her.
Jocelyn Reyna Per.4
My favorite scene in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when everyone was in love with the wrong person, because of the love potion. I love how Robin is just cracking up when everyone is going crazy. Everything they're saying is all serious, but because you know they're under a potion it's funny.
Mason Meeks Per. 4
In "A Midsummer Night's Dream" I like the part when Hippolyta and Theseus are talking about their "Nuptial Hour." Theseus is ready to move the relationship along that very night, while Hippolyta says that she can wait. In this scene Hippolyta is kind of saying that she does not like Theseus, and she definately does not want to get maried to him.
~Paige A. Period 6
My favorite scene in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is when the fairies put the love potion on the characters and then everyone was falling in love with the wrong people. This is my favorite scene because I felt it was the only funny part of the book. It was a crazy time and everyone was acting dumb and confused.
-Valerie Masson Period 4
My favorite scene in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when the whole confusion of the potion and stuff began. This was my favorite scene because the girl that was oppsess with the guy knew that he wanted to be with her. Aslo because she got confused and scared and thought it was a trick and well the whole confusion was pritty fun.

My favorite scene from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" would be when Robin put Lysander under the potion and when he wakes up, he falls in love with the first thing he lays eyes on, which is Helena. He was actually in love with Hermia but nothing went right after the potion was put upon him. Also, the way he was acting and treating Hermia after he woke up was rude and insulting but in a way, it was funny.
Augusta Gelb Period 6
The scene i liked the most was when bottom was turned into a donkey. I know this was the lowest comedy and just made a lot of ass jokes but i still thought it was funny. Although, i would think that you could tell if you grew donkey ears and everyone ran away form you.
Dante.f period 4
My favorite scene in "A Midsummer Nights Dream" is when all four of the lovers all fall in love wiht the wrong people. This was my favorite scene because I found it funny how at first Lysander and Demitreus were in love with Hermia, but then all of a sudden they are both under the love potion and they are in love with Helena.
Viviana Guerrero
period 6.
My favorite scene in "A Midsummer Nights Dream" is when Demetrius and Helena are in the woods. Helena wants to tell Demetrius that Lysander and Hermia plan to elope. At this point in the woods Demetrius asks Helena if she is asking for sex because they are alone, in the middle of nowhere, where no one will see or hear anything they do. This is my favorite scene because it demonstrate the way some men and women offer themselves in real life today. They don't think before they act and "tease" each other. Demetrius is like most boys/men today, and Helena is that poor love sick girl, who is so naive and believes anything. I connected to this because, that's the kind of girl I use to be, but I have grown out of.
-Daisy R. Period 4
My favorite scene was when Robin turned Bottoms head into an ass. I thought it was funny because he did not her had the head of and ass. Nobody was talking or running away from him, but he dident know why. It was pretty funny.
Michael D. Period 4
My favorite part in "A Midsummer Nights Dream" is when Lysander is telling Helena that he loves her when Hermia is right infront of it. Hermia is so confused that she gets so angry because just a couple hours ago he want to get in bed with her and now hes telling another girl he loves her. It just my favorite part because it was hilarious because he was under a poison and then she as in Hermia wanted to fight helena. It was just funny knowing that we all knew he was under a spell while none of them knew.
-Aries L. Period 4
My favorite scene from " A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when Robin mistakenly gave Lysander the potion instead of giving it to Demetrius. I felt after Robin made this mistake, it changed the rest of the story. It was the biggest twist to the story and something that made the play more interesting. Everyone was falling in love with the wrong person and things weren't the same after that. Lysander and Hermia were truly in love, but now Lsander was given the potion by mistake and now is in love with Hermia's ex best friend, Helena. Throughout the rest of the story, the four lovers were very confused on who it was they really loved. The potion was given to other people throughout the story, but my favorite part was when it was given to Lysander. Even after all this happened, I was glad to hear that in the end Lysander and Hermia were back together.!
-Olivia A., Period 4
I liked the scene when Bottom has a head of a donkey. I like this part of the book because it is funny how know one told him he had a donkey head. It must have been weird for him because every one was avoiding him and he did not know why. It also was probably weird for everyone else who saw him walking around not knowing he had a head of a donkey.

I liked the scene where Bottom had the head of an ass. He had the head of an ass and everyone ran away from him. everyone was avoiding him and he did not know why. It's funny because everyone knew that he had the head of an ass except him. It's funny becasue everyone knew that he had the head of an ass, but he never knew that he had the head of an ass.
Jose G. P.4
My favorit part from the scene was when the four lovers get mixed up and love the wrong persons because Robin gives the love posion to lysander, so now Demetrius and Lysander love helena. So Hermia is mad at Helena I think it's funny how they fall in love.
Neira P.6
My favorite part in the book was when the love potion was given to the wrong person. This changed the whole story because everyone was in love with the wrong one. I thought the words they were telling each other was funny because no one really meant it since they were under a spell.
Katherine v. per.4
My favorite scene in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is when Lysander wakes up and thinks he loves Helena, but he really loves Hermia. This scene is my favorite because it shows you how easily people can be tricked into thinking they love someone that they don't have feelings for to begin with.
Darby B. P.4
My favorite scene would have to be when the Mechanicals were putting on their play. The reason for this is because I had thought their poor production skills were funny.

My favorite scene from "Midsummer nights dream" was when bottom was cursed with the head of a donkey. I liked this scene because i thought it was funny. I also liked how he thought he was so amazing but he was just foolish.

My favorite scene form "A Midsummer Nights Dream" was when Robin turned bottom into an ass and then Hipolita falls in love with him becuse she had he postion on her. I loved this part becuse she was really in love with the donkey but in reallity she really wasnt. It was a very funny scene.
Ra'Jhon S.

My favorite scene would have to be when Robin Goodfellow gave the potion to Lysander instead of Demetrius, and Lysander ended up leaving Hermia and insulting her.
-Jesus D. P.4
My favorite scene from "A Midsummer Nights Dream" was when Hipolita falls in love with Bottom who has a head of a donkey this was my favorite scene because it showed that love sometimes is blind but in this case she wasn't really in love with him she was under a potion and when she finally noticed she couldn't believe she had spent the night with him. I believe that this scene also represented how sometimes feelings get mixed up and you can't tell the difference from real love.
-Luisa C. P.6
My favorite scene was when Puck out the spell on Lysander instead of Demetrius. I liked this scene because it was a moment of stupidity and it was pretty funny. I like how Helena was confused and angry and kept on saying get away from me your just playing a trick on me.
Kayley Hall, Period 6
My favorite part of the book would have to be the part where everyone was confused about who they loved. i like this part because it was just fun to see how confused they were.

My favorite part from "A Midsummer Nights Dream" was when bottom turned into an ass and he didn't even know. My favorite part of this play is at the beginning when all the characters escape to the woods. This is my favorite part of the play because it is very discriptive and imaginative.

I like when the queen fairy fell in love with an ass because it was the only amusing thing in the book
Nick Northup P.4
My favorite scene in " A Midsummer Nights Dream" was when all the four lovers are put in a spell because they were all give a love potion and they end up getting mixed up with who they love. My favorite scene is when Titania falls asleep and Oberon has Robin put love potion on her eyes, I like this scene because it tells how jealous and decieving someone can actually be. It simply tells the truth and I find it incredibly realistic.

When I was watching the movie "A Midsummer Night's Dream," I found it more interesting than the book because during the book I was completely lost. The movie helped me because I was able to see what was happening. When I was reading the book it didnt make sense at all but the movie helped me comprehend everything even though some things were different then in the book.
-Brianna Valentin p. 4
I thought of the "The Midsummer Nights Dream", That the movies was more intresting than the book, because i could picture it in my mind and understand it better.I saw how the characters acted and where and it was easier for me to understand.

In my opinion about the 1996 film version (this comes from the little clips i saw when i was present in class), very funny especially at the end. Gave a clear picture of what the poem could not give me while we were reading it. Also the changes in the movie were explainable, but not so tangable. In regards of what i said, the film was alright.
-Gabriella A. 6th period
To me I found the book more interesting than the movie. " A Midsummers Night Dream" was meant to be a great amusing play you could tell as you read. However when you watch the movie you get confused, because of lines that are missing and different characters. Some discriptions were completely changed. I would rather read the book then watch the amusement of the play with in the play was awesome.

A Midsummer Night's Dream was a unique book. Unfortunately, I preferred the movie. The book had horrible actors. There were no actors!

The movie "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was way better then the book. The way that it was better for me was that it was easyer to understand. It would of really help me understand the book if i had seen the movie first and then read the book. Now that I have seen the movie I could now understand the book. But the book would of been better then the movie if I saw the movie first because the book has more details.

I was not sure if I liked movie or book more they both had advantages. The book had the advantages of the Shakespearean feel to it. But the movie was better because plays are supposed to be seen not heard.

I didn't really like the movie as much as I liked the book.Sure the movie was funny at times but it was missing a lot of things that the book had. I don't think it gave the full Shakespeare experience.

I preferred the movie "A Midsummer Night's Dream" over the play. When I seen the movie, I understood a lot more on what was going on throughout the story. It was preformed with great actors who really fit the parts. Not in one scene was I confused, unlike the book. The movie was a fun, energetic, and a well produced movie.

After watching the movie,"A Midsummer night's dream", i found my self understanding the characters and the events that were happening in the story. Reading the book mainly gave me an idea of a boring love story, but after watching the movie i noticed there was more to it. The poetry used in the movie became more vivid. Afterall, i think the movie made the book more interesting than i thought it was.

I thought that the movie was quite different than the movie. they were missing a few speeches that were said in the play. I thought that the play was better than the movie because in the movie some of the characters could have played their role a little better , and inn the play you can imagine how they are acting and it makes it more beliveable.

Who is your hero? Briefly tell us why.
As cliché as it is, (but I could care less) my mother Sylvia is my hero. Being a single parent is not a walk in the park, it’s a heavy duty job. My mother is the indescribable medication; she loves on everyone and always puts on a great front. She makes friends everywhere she goes believes that everyone has a greater side in themselves. My mother is an intelligent woman that speaks her mind, lets nobody bring her down, mentors young adults, and gives the greatest stories ever. My mother has struggled through many disgusting situations and yet she is still living, breathing, walking on solid ground. She is the toughest woman I’ve grown to love and care for through my 15 years and counting. My mother is the type of lady that folks love to talk to, argue with, love on, and care for. She knows how to have an awesome time, loves to learn new things, and adores helping her sisters and mother. Whenever she sees someone in need my mother is right there coaching them and giving the supplies they need; there is not a time when she fails to give love to anyone. The greatest part of my mother is her faith and service to God. I love that about her. My mother always amazes me with her personality and spirit; she has a massive heart and it shines through her body and smile. She is the perfect example of what I hope to become in the future; I love my mommy with words unknown to man, she is my indescribable hero.

Someone in my life that is my hero, is my mom Linda. She's not just my mother, but my bestfriend. She has always gave me great advice as a bestfriend but also has gave me punishment like a mom. She plays both the parent and friend in my life. My mom is a strong and independent woman, too me she is a strong person inside. Shes also very stubborn but I know its because she wants the best for me and my brother in life. shS has proven to me that life is short and I should live everyday as it's my last. Im blessed to have a fun, loud, crazy, strict at times, beautiful outgoing, loving mother like her.
BriannaV. p.4
I would have to say that God, my mom and my dad are my heroes. God is my hero because he is the reason this world is existing. He is very much my inspiration. Now, my mother, Paula, is the kind of person who meets friends checking out at a grocery store. She is loud and not afraid to show people who she really is. she is also the kind of person who is friends with everyone. She shows me that life is not perfect, but we can all get by very easily. I love that she can be best friends with anyone and everyone. I also love that she doesn't let people get to her. I mean she does admit that she doesn't like someone but she manages to not let that show. My dad, my dad is amazing to be. To me he is strong, loving, caring, and invincible. I love that he is so calm when he gets angry, and thinks out every word he says so he doesn't end up wanting to take back something he says.

If I had to choose my hero would be my father. My dad is my hero because he has a never give up attitude. He is always making sacrifices to make his family better. He is always doing his best to help out around the house and make are lives at least a little bit better. He will never say no to someone who needs his help and is always worring about people even if they're complete strangers. He will do everything in his power to help me in anything I ask for help in even if he has no idea how to do what I'm asking for. It is because of this that I look up to my dad and hope to become just like him when I grow up.

My Hero is my Uncle. My uncle is a true hero to me because he fought in WW2 I see that as a major bavery and knowledge acheivement. My Uncle has obtained many metals, and other awards for what he has done. He was a Bomber pilot for the European campain. He was even connected with the legendary ace pilots the Hells angels. I was astonished to hear about that story. As soon as that was told I instanly that how could I match or even be better than that. He is one of my heros and I highly look up to him. I wish I knew him better but he passed away before I got the chance. When you lose a hero its much worse than losing your pet. Basically it sets the mind to start to acheive what you think can be a match to what your hero has accomplished or better. Without my uncle I would probably be not sure about what to aim for in the future.
Wayne Keithley P. 4 B)
My hero is my older brother. He is my hero because he is a great brother to me, and I know I can trust him with things. He is always kind and almost always puts others before himself. Even when I am mean to him he is kind and tries to let it roll off of his shoulders. I love him and could not ask for a better older brother. That is why he is my hero(:
-Ally Hovencamp,p.6
My hero would be my mom. The reason for why it would be my mom it would be because she has tooken care of me and she is a single mother. She is a verry helpful person and a great person who has led us, my brother, sister, and I to be very good people. She is my hero because she has done so much by her self. Even when I do wrong things or act not in a good way she is always there to help me and gide me in the right way to change my bad ways to be in good ways. That is why I say she is my hero. <3

In my life there has been many people who I would consider to be my "hero". Many people have came to save my day during the bad times I have had. However there is one hero above all, and that is God. God is my #1 hero and always will be. He is the creator of the Earth that we all live on. I know that he is always here for me and no matter what, that will never change. No matter what mood I am in, when I go to church I always come out in a happy mood. To me he is just awesome and I always know that he will be there for me just to talk and listen too. Even though I can not physically hear him talk to me, I can spiritually feel him. I love God with all my heart and he forever will be my hero.
My hero is Nikola Tesla he is a brilliant scientist born around the 18th centuries. I look up to him because he started out working for Tomas Edison. I am going to tell you about my sports hero. My sports hero is Ladainian Tomlinson who is one of the greatest runningbacks of all time in NFL history. He is not just a hero because his stats but because his life story and his attitude. He grew up in a little town in Waco Texas and he never gave up and he now is in the NFL. He is very humble and he is a leader for his team and the city of San Diego. I got to meet him once when I was in middle school and I know he is humble because he is not full of himself and he does not talk about himself like some athletes do. -Brandon.G
My heroes are my parents. They had to go through many difficulties and raise four kids. They took care of us and loved us. They are always there for us. They are brave, strong, and determined. My hero would have to be Herman Li. He is the writer and lead guitarist of one of my favorite bands, Dragonforce. The mere name sounds childish, I must admit; however, it is significantly inspirational. Otherwise, I would either be in a clinical depression or possibly not even going to this school.

My hero is "Megatron", a.k.a Calvin Johnson. He is a football player on the Detriot Lions. I look up to him when I am playing football because he is just so good. He plays hard every game, so I try to do the same. He makes amazing plays that change games, so I try to do that.

My heroes would have to be my parents. They brought me to this world and have been there for me ever since. When I don't have a friend to rely on or someone to depend on, they're there. Through thick and thin, big or small, they are there to support me, protect me, scream at me, and guide me. I love my parents, and I look up to them because I believe they did an amazing job raising my sibling and I.

My hero is my dad Kevin, because he is always there for his family. When times get hard my dad will work till he drops. Even though him and I don't see eye to eye all the time he would take a bullet for me and anyone else in the family. I have made some bad decisions in my life and my dad stilll backs me up when I need him there the most. And I know I take advantage of what he does for me and my family but I know if I look up to him as my hero I will some day turn out to be like him for my family.

My hero would have to be my dad! My dad does so much for my family and I. He has taught me so much over the years and I am so grateful for everything he does for me. I look up to my dad so much because he is the only one of 12 children to graduate from high school. My dad knew he wanted to make something of his life so he went to college and joined the Air Force. He graduated from college with his masters and became an algebra teacher in Moreno Valley. My dad is now a Sargent in the Air Force and has been taken all over the world to serve our country. My dad is an amazing person with a huge heart and I am very lucky to have him in my life. He has taught me to follow my dreams, and let nothing or no one stop you from doing what you are meant to do. I love my dad very much and that is why he is my hero. :)

From Book 12 of "The Odyssey," the Sirens' song symbolizes an irresistable temptation that can draw you to disaster. Tell us about the Sirens' song in your life.
the siren's song which i can't resist is video games. when i am doing mhome work or y chores, i am tempted to go and play xbox. it have played for seven hours straight one time. video games are resistable to me because it is my way of getting away from the real world, and it stimulates me. eben though i get mad at the game sometimes, i still enjoy playin games.
Hector A P.4
The song of the sirens in my life would have to be video games. When I go home and begin to work on my homework it's tempting to have a PS2 in front of you. It mocks me with call of duty in the player. I can already feel myself playing in world war 2 shooting german troops. It keeps me from doing my work. When I work on my homework the PS2 is right in my face all the time.
Wayne Keithley P.4
The songs of the Sirens would be my computer/internet, I go into my bedroom ready to study and then I become enveloped by the idea of ditching homework and using time to do stupid things on my computer. After all my homework wasn't attractive so I already did not want to do it. Homework that involves my computer makes the matter worse, when I get on my laptop the internet becomes my demise.
Taylor B.
Period 4
The sirens in my life would be the TV. I could walk into a room all ready to work on something but if the room has a TV in it I'm instantly tempted to turn it on and waste countless hours watching TV. This would go on until there is nothing good to watch. Thats when I realize I just blew 5 hours watching TV instead of doing my homework.
Victor J Period 4
The sirens song in my life would be guys, I always set myself up for hurt when it comes to guys. Even though I always seem to get hurt nothing can seem to hold me back from falling all over agian. I really should learn from past experiences but for some reason I am especially stupid about these types of situations and it always leads to pain.
-Ally Hovencamp, p.2
The sirens song in my life is TV or my laptop. I would get all my homework and think that I am going to start on it but once I get on my compute or switch the TV on I am hooked. I can't take my eyes off of the TV. Even if I am going on the computer for the calculator or something I can't stop myself from browsing on the web even if I know that I have a lot of homework. Sometimes this leads to procrastination and I am trying not to procrastinate this year.
-Inderjeet Sandhu p.6
The sirens in my life would social networks and texting. They both are a huge distraction to me. I try foucusing on my homework but it sems like my phone or laptop just call my name. this leads to me procrastinating. But my goal is too give my phone top my mom and block my social networks until all my homeowrk is complete.
-Bianna V. p.4
The Sirens Song in my life would be reading. I come home late and do my daily routine, but I get caught up with a book I am reading or articles online. I finish the little pieces of homework that i can do within seconds, but since I come home late I do my daily things and later finish my big stuff. Reading has become a major part of my life now and I need to control it because I do not go to bed until 3 in the morning or sometimes i knockout. I try my best to get on top of my studies and homework, but temptation is eye-balling me in the face every second; I just can not resist.
Gabriella A. 6th period
My siren is my laptop. whenever I am typing a paper or studding in my room its tempting to open up Chrome and surf the web or watch movies. I will most likely loose a third of my study time to my computer. If i did not do any of the things i normally do i would get done ten times faster. I sometimes study for a hour then reword my self with three hours of playing a game.I am not week my computer is just to strong for me to ignore.
Dante F P.4
The sirens song in my life would be my phone.I would be on the phone talking or texting or both at the same time all day.Once i see that the conversation is boring I will check the time and see if late and I still haven't done my homework, so that's when I start, but i'm never satisfied.
-Neyra B. P.6
The siren song in my life would have to be girls. I can never say "no" to a any girl because thats how my parents taugth me. My parents taught me that girls were and always will be sacred. So, to me thats somenthing that I cant ignore and that's why the siren song in my life is girls.
Jose G. P.4
A book would be my siren song. Every time I pick a book up and began reading it, I get lost in the pages. I will hear things happening around me but, I tend to become part of the world that I am creating page by page in novels. I love to create my own image and world when I read books. Sometimes I can sit for hours reading chapter after chapter. Once I start reading a catchy book, it is nearly impossible for me to set it down.
Darby B. P.4
The Sirens in my life would be the computer/phone because while im trying to do all my homework i have them all around me and i get tempted to check my messages. I always have pandora music playing on my computer and then i see my math and i start thing this is hard so i just ditch it and go to see whos on facebook or on twitter. Plus im always saying i'll get off the computer in 10 mins and then in a blink of an eye 1:30 mins pass. It seems to pass by so fast! Those are one of my biggest distractions. Those items are my sirens.

My siren that always attracts me to its self is the television. Whenever I sit down to do my homework, I turn on the television and sit in front of it and begin my work. It is like an automatic bad exercise, to sit in front of the t.v. and do homework. Besides doing homework, when my mother sends me to do an errand, i delay, stop, and watch television. After 5 minutes of watching television, I hear a scream telling me to hurry up! I can sit in front of the television and watch it all day, but I should ready use my time more wisely. As a matter of fact, I was watching t.v. when I entered this blog!

My “siren song” would have to be music, facebook, and texting. I listen to music when I do my homework, clean, and any other possible time I can. It’s a new wave of life that attracts me to dance and sing along. Even though it does distract me, it gives me energy. If it’s not music, then it would be the social network and texting that attract me the most. They are always there and its hard to resist not using them.

Cute girls are sirens because when they start to talk to you, you drop everything and listen. The next thing you know you have a missing assignment. Now your playing catch up trying to pass your class all because of these cute girls. Gotta love though

Like most human males, my life’s siren song is video games. I enjoy myself when I eliminate someone from the game, knowing that I have dominated over them. Also, when I complete an objective, I am one step closer to world domination. Hey, it’s human nature to want to dominate. This is the “siren’s song” for me.
Wesley Smith, Period 4 ☺
My Siren song would have to be Phones/ texting, and facebook. Anytime that I am trying to do my homework i always have them near me at a reach, and then my phone will start to ring and I answer it and before I know it, I am more concentrated in writing a text then finishing up my homework. Same goes with facebook. When I shouldbe doing research I go on facebook and say ill only be on for a few minutes and then ill get to my research, but time will just fly by and before I know it about 2 hours would have passed by.

The siren song in my life is the internet. I should be doing my homework, but I get carried and start doing something else. I start doing random things like ebay, google, or facebook. I get so bored that I just start looking stuff up, talking to people, or download stuff. I start playing games a lot on the internet, that definetly carries me away.
-Michael D. P.4
I have two Siren Songs in my life horses and music. When ever I hear a good song or the radio is playing I get pulled into it. Music moves me and it relaxes my mind. I can rarely focus on something unless I have music playing in the background. It's funny because most people would be distracted, but it enables me to focus better. If I hear a song that I can relate to in my life I'll listen to it over and over. My horses take me into another realm and I feel invincible when ever I ride them. I can spend hours outside with my horse and they always make my day. Horses intrigue and amaze me. They are magnificent creatures and they do everything willingly. They give all their hearts and don't ask for anything in return. Music and horses are my passion.
-Charlene H. Per. 4
Electronic sports are my siren. They are on the video games and Tv. Madden is always their to play on PS3 and you can also play NBA 2k. It distracts you through your whole day. Then there is Sportscenter and all the different sports talk shows that always give you updates about everything from fantasy football to the NBA lockout. It is always there distracting you from doing chores or your homework.
Brandon G
The siren song in my life is sports. Sports are a huge part of my life and sometimes are all I ever do. I always seem to find myself setting a volleyball or outside with my brother playing baseball or soccer when I should be doing something else. Sports take up most of my time; time that I could be spending on homework and school. I spend a lot of my time playing sports and it has taken a toll on my grades. I still make time for homework and family, but I am tired most of the time and never get to go out with friends like I want to. I am very dedicated to my sports, but they do keep me from doing things I want or need to do.
- Olivia A, Period 4
The siren song in my life would definitely be music. Whenever I do my homework I usually like to listen to a chill, or calm song and I don't get distracted but sometimes I can't handle the slow songs. I put on my rock songs and I cant consenstrate which leads me to do procastinate and I usually don't get my homework or chores done and that leads me to trouble.
Kayley Hall, Period 6
The sirens in my life would have to be food. I will eat food when i know i am full but i cant resist a delicious pice of food. I will look at a fat fulled candy bar and i know i should not eat it but its calling my name. So i have to devour it and i regret it after. But it was awesome while it lasted.
Erica Hall Period 6
The siren song in my life would music, the internet. Everytime I say im going to do my homework I end up hearing music and surfing the web. I always say that im just going to check something really quick and then after im thinking that only 5 min pasted and it really has been and hour already. This leads me to procrastinate which the web just makes me stay their for longer. Im always tempted to just stay their for a little and it ends up being a very long time. Amd music thats one thing i have to hear everyday, if i dont then i will be very upset. its something i can say thats addicting to me already. Those are my sirens to me.

The siren song in my life would be music. I'm always listening to music and its something i cannot stop doing. I love the way there are many types of music and i love the way you can relate to some of the music for me it would be love music. I like music because there is different types for the mood you are in. I have to listen to music no matter what everyday because thats what makes me happy.

The siren song in my life would have to be my friends. I love my friends, and they are some of the most important people in my life but they distract me. If I'm trying to actually do homework one day, they come over. If I plan to go somewhere, they call. If I'm on the internet, they message me. They are everywhere. I'm not complaining though, I love them, and I enjoy talking to them, but sometimes I need to learn how to say no.
Daisy R. Per. 4
The Siren's song in my life would have to be music and texting. If i am trying to do something, like chores, i easily get distracted because i know i received a text and i anxiously have to write back to it. Everywhere i am i receive a text and i just have to write back! And i would have to say music because when doing my homework music juts puts me to sleep, which makes me procrastinate, but sometimes i just have to put my phone down and deny that text, and other times i just have to ignore the music playing.
-Denise C.
-Period 6.
The siren song in my life would be soccer. It has been the center of my life ever since I was 5, and will continue to be until my body can not take playing the sport any longer. It is an escape for me from the world and all of my problems. I love the adrenaline rushes I get while playing this sport and the amazing feeling of scoring or saving a goal. I revolve my whole life around this sport because of how important it is to me. Just about every weekend I have a game and 3 days out of the week I have practice. This however keeps me from my school work and that can lead my grades to be a disaster. I need to control my time management with this sport.
Valerie Masson Period 4

The threat of nuclear war is a major theme in science fiction written after World War II. What do you see as the major threat we face today?
In my option the most likely threat to the world is a zombie apocalypse. It is the funnest apocalypse so their is a higher chance that a rich guy would genticaly enginer a virus to match the symptoms of the movies. All out cast love zombies and hate the world ,therefore, they would dedicate their life to ending human life and making it a new zombie filled world.
Dante .F P. 4
The mayor threat that I see facing us is war. It doesn't matter if its nuclear or not, hundreds and thousands of people die because of war. War separates people every year and get sent to some place like Iraq or Afghanistan. Some families are lucky and see their family members again while others are not. This why I believe that war is a threat to everyone in the world.
Victor J Period 4
One of the major threat that endangers us now and days is racism. Racism is a horrible way to live because we were all created equal. Last year, my friend had told me about an experience that shocked me about how a group of guys told her just because pf the color of her skin. We would think that this doesn't happen were we live, but this actually took place on our NBECHS campus. She told me she was terrified because of this expirence! No matter what race, religion,or sex or are or believe in everyone is the same.

i think that one day all trees are going to do that thing that happens in the happening, due to over population. that will definitely rise conflict because the more people inhabit the earth, the more trees go crazy and release toxins into the air. then everyone will turn into zombies and die.
-aracely martinez, period 4 :D
I believe that major threat that people face in these days, is war. The reason for why I say this is because war kills inecent people. Yea maybe not us, people in the United Staes but yet people who Live in different places. Our military whom we call to be heros are not just heros but enemies too.Our great call heros, kill children in different places around the world. War is War I understand but yet our greaty military goes an attack villages where there are women and children that do not want to be in war. Not only does the war hurt inacent people but it also separates families. Our families and whom we call our enemies. We fight for land, food, and otherthings we may need. But we dont stop and ask ourselfs if what we are doing is really helping us or we are just making enemies all over the world. This is why I believe that war is the greatest threat in the world, not for us only but for everyone.

A major threat to us now is Racism. Even though Racism isn't as bad as it was before it still accurs to some people now. We all should know by now that no matter what color you are or what religion, we all deserved to be treated equal.
-Brianna V. per.4
A major threat we face today is war. War does not always have to be between two nations but, two friends, or siblings. War tares the world, people, and families apart. It is a huge matter of distruction that leaves people injured and hurt. The huge problem with war is people dont know when to start or how to stop it.
Erica Hall period 6
A major threat that we face today is racism. Racism divides many people in these country. In these country there is many people from different ethnics and thats why i think that racism is a major threat in these country. Racism does not only exist at schools it also exists outside of school. I haven't experienced it myself but i have friends who have experienced it.
Jose G. Period 6
A major threat that we face today is close mindedness. This means that that people are stubborn and do not want to open their mind to new possibilities and opportunities. This is a major threat today because if no one is open to new ideas, then the world will not move forward. This day and age is about discovering new technologies and being open to the things around us, but if people are still stuck in their stubborn close minded moods, then there is no way for these things to occur.
Sarah Glastetter, Period 6 c:
A major threat we face today is losing things that we, as humans, take for granted. For instance, people despise bees and often, when they see one, try to kill them. But what people do not know is the fact that bees are the reason we have things like fruits and vegetables. The bee population is dropping drastically, and without their pollination, those things we love will not grow. We take for granted a lot of things and are in definite danger of losing them.
-Ally Hovencamp, p.6
People, for some reason, are worried about that some terrorists are going to nuke us. Currently we have a much more powerful force that is nuking us. The main danger to this world is the dying environment. Why worry about the United States getting bombed when the entire planet is under attack!?
Wesley Smith, per 4 ☺
A major threat that we face in today's society is racism. In today's world racism is happening all around us, yet no one is doing anything to stop it. Racism really hurts people and their feelings. It brings them down and at times can actually provide harm to them. This then can lead our world to destruction because everyone will be racist towards one another and be treated unequal.
Valerie Masson Period 4
The threat this world is to face has to be the loss of natural resources. As the human race progresses there is a decline in the materials we use, for instance there is water all around us, our earth is 3/4 made up of water, yet only 2% of that is fresh water. Yes, war can destroy a society. It may leave us with a few humans living, possibly eliminate our species, but without our resources there is 100% chance nobody will survive.
Taylor B.
Period 4
I see the problem of over population and global warming a huge threat to the world. Over population would be one of the worst things because our natural resources would be decimated. Without that we cannot have a society where people can get what they need for reasonable prices. The world will have no more room for people. Global warming is not as big but just as important to the world.
-Jesus D. P.4
The threat this world is facing is the government becoming too powerful. It is said we are free and we have our rights, but ironically we truly do not. The government already hides a lot of things from the people and most likely has plans the normal person will never hear of. The government was made for the people and of the people, but the people now have little say in anything the government does or does not do.
Charlene H. P.4
A major thing I see today is global warming. All this happends because there are alot of smoke by cars in this time of period, this causes the ultra violtes and this make glaciers melt because of the heat. The world could end if we don't try to control global warming.
Neyra B. P.6
One major threat I see the world is facing today is, power. When I watch the news, all I see is different countries beginning to protest against their governments. They are all protesting for the same reason. The people know the governments have a lot of power, and want to do organize the country they way they think it would be ran best. There are over 3 countries protesting now about the power their government has.
Darby Biggs p.4
One major threat that I see the world facing today is Racism. Although many poeple may say that there isno more rasicm because we are all created equal, that is not all so true. There is still people that judge others due to the color of their skin, religion, or where they came from. No matter of any of that we still are equal and we are all human being with all the same rights. People should not judge others due to appearance or their background history, they should judge them on the person that they are in the inside like how they treat others and their personality.
- Viviana R. Guerrero
period 6
One thing that we face today is drugs and alcohol. More and more teenagers are drinking and smoking different things. Drugs and alcohol have an affect on teens that can hurt other people about 70 percent of all teens drink alcohol. 60 percent of teens die in alcohol related accidents. This is a huge number that must be decreased. Having this many teenagers dying every year is way too much. Parents say that their teen does not drink. But only 30 percent of those parents are true to their word. Teenagers need be more cautious about who they are friends with. Any parent would want their children to be happy, but is it worth dying for?
~Paige A. P. 6
A major threat we face in the world today is climate change. Climate change has been going on for years. Some believe that the changes of the past few decades are nothing but natural variations. A majority of climate scientists, however, believe that human activities are currently affecting the climate and like many other scientists, the Planetary Boundaries team believes that the tipping point has already been passed.
-Oscar Lozoya P.4
I think that the major threat that we face today is global warming because its affecting out plants, trees, mainly any natural resources. Its also affect young children or much older adults with their breathing its preventing more sickness and its just damaging our world. We need to stop with all these factories and other resources that require anything to damage our atmosphere.I just think this is affecting our world an we should handle it now.
-Aries L
P.4
The major threat that we face today is not being responsible for our natural resources. Things that we need to survive like food, water, and clothes, people take for granted everyday. With the population increasing every year, our supply of resources is going to continue to go down if people aren't more responsible. Making small changes like shortening showers by 2 minutes and turning the faucet off when your done can save a lot of water. For food, instead of throwing it away, people can put leftovers in a reusable container or make a plate for a neighbor. Finally for clothing, people can donate their clothes to people or families who really need them instead of throwing them away. Making small changes now can make for a huge difference in our society later. Giving stuff away and cutting back can help everyone save our natural resources and money.

I believe a major threat we face today would have to be drug cartel wars. People everywhere are dying daily, due to those wars. Innocent people are being kidnapped, raped, and slaughtered so that these cartels have the attention they want and need. A lot of people know about theses people, and a lot of people have joined forces with them, for these reasons I believe this is a great danger to us.
-Daisy R. Period 4
A major threat today is all the wars. No matter what it is about it kills many. Family loose their loved ones because of war and innocent people in the areas they fight in die. There are wars about everything and everyone thinks war fixes problem but it just causes alot more.

A major threat we face today would have to be drug cartels and alcoholism. We have it all over the news about drug cartels spreading out further by the days, everybody fears it we will eventually reach us. When we hear about people being kidnapped and/or raped, sometimes we even hear about people being slaughtered and other graphic stuff. But the reason why these cartels are spreading is because more and more people are joining them because they are either scared of any danger happening to them or their families. Many people fear this is a big danger to us.

A major threat that we face today is global warming. as the years go by we are are needing more automobiles which harms the earth and causes smog and polution. we should start to convert to mart cars which are electrical and does not harm the earth we should also recycle what we can to make sure we can lower the risk of something bad happening to the earth and the people and animals which live here.

A major threat that we face today is agricultral destruction because the weather can effect the enviroment in various ways. If there are no fruits and vegatables thn the animals would die and if the animals die then humans would die as well because of the fact that we eat animals to survive. If there are no animals all the humans would die and the entire humajn race would be wiped out.

A major threat we face today is racism. Racism affects everyone, it divides people unequally just because of their skin color. This shouldn't happen because god created us all the same. It doesn't make sense how a person could be better just because they are lighter or darker.
