What's your favorite love song? Why?
(No lyrics, please. Just paraphrase what's important to you.)
My favorite love song would have to be A Thousand Years, because it is a song that shows how long someone's love could be for another indiviual. It's very romantic also.
-Cheyanne Ervin Period 2
1 4 3 because the numbers stand for "i love you" and because it is one song that is always on mine and my best friends Cds.
- jordan gitmed, period 1
This is really hard to decide because I have plenty of favorite love songs. If i really had to choose just one I would chose David Choi- By your side because in the lyrics it talks about being together forever, and falling in love. My favorite part is " I want you here forever, right here by my side"
-Elizabeth Cole P.2
I say my favorite is "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down. I don't know why. I just really dig that song. If not that song, I pick "Steal Your Bones" by Electric Six. Unless Electric Six is your favorite band, this song won't really sound like a love song, but to me it does. It's a weird song...but I LOVE it!
-Dylan Harris Period 2
"Try Me" By James Brown is probably one of the top songs because its an older love song and songs about love now are pretty lame. Artists like him and Ben E King understood the true meaning of a good love song, im not saying there arent good love songs now, just not as good as previous ones.
-Kevin Duran P.2
I have many favorite love songs but one of the songs that is close to my heart is "Back at One" by Mark Wills. The song is about a guy who is trying to convince a girl that he is in love with her. She doesn't believe him and he's telling her all of the steps he'll take to get her to realize his love and if it doesn't work he'll go back to step one and do it all over again. I'm not sure why i love the song so much i guess because it's really sweet. I don't know i just know that i love this song. <3
-Christy McCallister Period. 2
I dont have many favorite love songs, but if i would have to choose one it would be " It Will Rain " by Bruno Mars because it really shows the story of love. It shows how much it can really hurts , but it is also a good thing.
-Mark Galvan Period 1
I don't have a favorite song but i do have a favorite band that i like many of their songs the band name is "Simple Plan". My mom used to listen to al kinds of music so i guess i just caught on.
Taylor W. P.2
My favorite love song would have to be "someone like you" by Adele because it talks about when you see someone that you had feelings for and when you talk to them again those feelings start to return.
-Raymundo Talavera period 1
My favorite song would have to be "Right Next To You" by Chris Brown. This song talks about how the world could be ending but that does not even matter when you are with the one you love and the lyrics are heartwarming. That is why I really love this song.
~Gaby Gallegos Period 2 ♥
My favorite love song would have to be "One and Only" by Adele. Although I am not a strong believer in love at this age I feel like this song really connects to me at this moment in my life. They remind me that although I may not love him I will always have a special spot in my heart for this lucky fella;).
~Alyssa Aguilar P.2
My favorite love song would have to be "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. I don't have a definate reason as to way this is my favorite song, but I would have to say that it is because of the lyrics. I also like it because it says that it's like unconditional love.
Lauren P. p.1
This is a hard one. I have so many favorite love song, it's hard to pick a number 1. The first song that comes to mind however, is "Whiskey Lullaby" by Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley. This song says a lot about how much love can mean to someone. In the song the couple splits because the girl cheated. The guy trys his hardest to get over her but can't, so he turns to whiskey hoping that it would help, but it killed him. The song continues to say that ever since the day they split the girl was doing the same, and after his death to took it up a notch and eventually she too died. This song shows that when you truly love someone, they have the power to hurt you, and though you might go through hardships its still possible to love them.
-Amanda Gaba period 1
My favorite love song would have to be "If The Moon Fell Down Tonight" by Chase Coy. It is my favorite song because someone dedicated that song to me and sang it to me. It is a sweet, cute love song that makes you feel special. Also it reminds me of all the good memories i had with that person.
-Serena Lopez P.2
Honestly, there are far too many love songs that i love, some old and some new; but if i were to pick at random, i would chose Love by Nat King Cole. It's such a mellow, sweet song about love and it makes me long for the day that i will have someone to share it with.
-Andrina Seryani Per.1
My favorite song related to love would be "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" by Jack Johnson because the song relates to me; Just cuz I love someone does not mean she will love me back, the song just reminds to not be in the position I once was, as the fool.
-Brian B.
My favorite love song would have to be "It Will Rain" by Bruno Mars. This is my favorite love song because it really talks about the reality of what love is. For example it talks about how love can be good sometimes, and how other times it can be really pain full. This is why I love this song because how it talks about love with honesty.
-Karina Morelos Per.1
My favorite love is “La Vie En Rose” by Louis Armstrong. It is such a sweet song about how wonderful love can be; the lyrics describe his lovers’ heavenly qualities that fill him with happiness. The sound of a trumpet gives me a classical vibe that I adore and his raspy voice can send out heartfelt boom of emotions.
-Claudia L.
My favorite love song would have to be "For Always" by One sixth of Tommy because it represents how love should be. It talks about good and bad times within a relationship and that this girl could not live with out this boy. And she could not bare a second with out him near.
-Ivonne Morales, Period 1
My favorite song is "Someone Like You" by Adele. It is my favorite because it talks about this girl loving a man and eventhough he doesn`t love her back, she is still going to be there for him. But she is going to find someone good for her.
-Monique Llamas, Period 1
My favorite love song is Battlefield by Jordin Sparks beacuse it explains how any little thing can ruin a relationship. Love can be wonderful one minute and the next be like a battlefield, fighting and crying. It shows the strenght of the women getting through battle.
-Yasmin Serrano, Period 2
Week of Dec. 5
Do you believe that the "perfect mate" is out there for everyone? Why or why not?
No I do not think that there is the " perfect " mate out there for everyone. I think this because not everyone finds love, or doesn't even want to be bothered with love. Many might just want to be focused on their and life and not anyone else.
-Cheyanne Ervin, Period 2
I believe that there is a perfect mate for everybody. It may not happen the first time, second time, or even the third time around, or it may not happen to be the chance that you guys even get married but their is that perfect somebody who can make love and the fight worth it because that is what forever is about. The perfect mate, i believe you would know when you find the perfect person for you.
-Elizabeth C P.2
Nope, flat out no. no one is the perfect match because relationships are meant for the couple to argue. that "perfect" person should have the same beliefs as you so you dont bump heads. but what are the odds of that happening, besdides women are difficult(men too).
-Kevin Duran
Yes, I do beleive that there is a perfect mate out there for everyone... because many people have lots of things in common. but i also beleive that the majority of people never find them.
-Joselin R P.2
I do not believe there is a perfect mate for everyone. I do not believe there is one person for everyone, or that there is a such thing as perfect. You may at first believe he is that one perfect guy for you, but you soon learn that he has the same imperfections as everyone else.
-Iris G. Period 1
yes i do believe that there is a perfect mate. i feel like i already have one. we have been dating for two years now and love each other dearly. we are so much a like and care about one another very much. we make each other happy and hardly fight. so yes i do believe.
-Sabrina Bill<3 p.2
I believe love is a complicated emotion and every one has their own believe in it. To me their is no perfect mate because it is human nature to want more and more. This perfect mate will only keep you satisfied for a while until your bored and leave them for another better mate and then the cycle continues.
Fernando Morales Period 1
I believe it is possible only in the mind. Nobody has the same ideas about love, nor would they have a perfect relationship because of different perpectives about every little detail. It only exists in the mind because only the mind can create the perfect individual for the person that is thinking about this kind of thing. I myself have thought of what the perfect mate would be, and it would be near impossible to find this person, especially because of my "special" interests, perspectives, and thought processes. It would be impossible for me because I like things that the majority of humanity probably find very bad, like death and things that would completely weird a "normal"(if such a concept even exists for humans) person out. So I only think it is possible in an individual's own little world to find the perfect mate.
-Cody Ott per. 2
Sadly, i do not believe that thaere is such a thing as a "perfect mate". This impplies that someone is perfect, without flaws or mistakes, but thats just not the way it is. Even those couples that claim that they are perfect for each other have their problems. So with that said i do believe that there is a great preson for everyone but in no way a "perfect mate".
-Amanda Gaba, period 1
I think that there is no such thing as a "perfect mate." No matter how many people try to say that they are perfect, everyone knows that there is no perfect person. There is such a thing as a person who is right for you, but still, there is no perfect person. Every couple, young or old, has their fights. If something comes up that either of them do not like, then, they will get into an argument. Couples do have their problems, no matter what they say, they do. So no, there is no such thing as a "perfect person."
Lauren P. per.1
I Do not believe there is a perfect mate for everyone. Life is not a fairytale or one of those movies where you fall in love easily, I do not think so because many people are too desperate or stubborn to have someone to deal with that kind of stuff. And second of all there is no such thing as "Perfect" so it is IMPOSSIBLE.
~Alyssa Aguilar P.2
I don't believe there is a "soul mate" out there for anybody because I'm a Christian. The reason being is because God never talks of this in the Bible. Even if there was a such thing I believe he would try and keep the two as far as possible from each other because it would take glory away from himself.
~Niye Turner
I do not believe there is a such thing as everyone having a perfect mate. Even the most in love couples fight. This fact makes them imperfect. Perfect is a strong word and it can not be lived up to when it comes to people, because all people make mistakes. I do believe you can find a person that is close to perfect but never truly perfect.
- Christy McCallister
I belive that there is, but i dont think that everyone finds them.
-Maritza cortez P.1-
I do not believe that there is a perfect mate in this world for everybody. i think this because no one is perfect and it can not be achieved. the imperfections of life are what make a perfect mate.
-Mark Galvan
I do believe that there is a perfect mate for everyone. Many people have many things in common. Although no one is really perfect, eople are still fairly close. Anyone can have a perfect mate, it is just a matter of finding them.
~Gaby Gallegos Period 2
I am not really sure if there is a "perfect" mate. I believe people will fall in love, but I believe that you can love anyone if you just get to know them. Therefore, the "perfect" sole mate thing will happen. Although, love is just two people find reasons why not to hate each other.
B Jones P2
I would like to think "the one" exists. But finding them is going to suck! They call them "the one" because there is only one of them! What are the odds of not only finding them, but getting them to also fall in love with you? That sounds hard!....Anywho, I think they exist.
-Dylan Harris Period 2
I believe that a perfect mate does exist because most of the people that are in a relationship usually last a long time. then also people do not have the perfect one because there are a lot of people that are single and are trying to find love. So basically i am going to go to both sides of the answers because of the mate.
Juan Madrid period 1
"Perfect mate" may be a little to ironic. No one is perfect and a relationship can enver be perfect. There may be someone that makes you happy and everything may be going "perfect" but that person can never be perfect beacuse mistakes have to be made to learn and improve your relationship. Anyone can find that one person that makes them happy but in reality that "one perfect mate" is not out there only someone close to it and that makes you happy.
-Yasmin Serrano, Period 2
Yes, i totally believe that there is a perfect mate for everyone but in order to find that person someone you have to look for him or her. You have to look for that special someone because if you don't you will never find your true love, also you cant give up if you haven't found that person.
-Monique llamas, Period 1
I definately believe that there is a perfect mate for everyone. You just have to find them. this is probably the reason many people don't believe, because they haven't looked hard enough.
- Jordan Gitmed, Period 1
I personally dont believe that there is such a thing as a "perfect mate", because there is no such thing as perfect to began with. Everyone and every couple has its problems and struggles. But i do belive that there is someone out there for everyone. With time and patiences, everyone can find that "speical someone".
~Rayven Adams P.2
I don't really think that there is a "perfect mate" for everyone because no one is perfect in the first place. Even though we think sometimes that we have found the perfect person we have not we are wrong because later on we are going to see all the problems and fights.
- Karina Morelos Per.1
It all depends on what perfect is for the person. Perfect is not the same for everyone. For me, my perfect mate would be a woman that has flaws like I do, I wouldn't want her to think she was perfectly flawless. So in a way a "perfect mate" is possible.
I believe that there is someone out there for everyone but they may not be perfect, because no one is perfect.
-Joanna Lara, Period 1
No, because people are complicated and indecisive. I believe we all ask for too much by setting standards to look for in a soul mate and odds are small when we consider how many people actually meet all of those “needs”.
-Claudia Lara P 2
No, i do not believe there is a perfect mate for everyone. A lot of people always think they have found their one and only, but later on they end up spliting up. I believe that it is just you find someone or you dont, because life is not a fairytale.
-Ivonne Morales, P1
Week of Dec. 12
Have you ever thought you knew someone well, then found out they were totally different than they appeared? Briefly explain (no names, please).
I knew this guy for 2 years and we always got along and so on, I knew his favorite colors and foods and we were practically best friends! Well it turned out that what I thought was his name wasn't, he was 2 years older than i thought, and he explained his whole life to me which was real different from the guy I knew :O
-Johanna, P.1
Yeah, I knew a chick like that. She was pretty cool, and kinda cute. I got to know her a little and she seemed cool. I was digging her, until she said I wasn't funny....What? Me- unfunny? How? Granted, this was back in 7th or 8th grade, but I was still funny back then! Turns out: she was a total female-dog, if you catch my drift.
Dylan Harris, Period 2
Oh yeah i knew someone like that. that person was pretty close actually but it didnt affect me, i honestly didnt care.
-Kevin P.2
Yes i thought i knew a person but then when we hit highschool he changed dramaticly.
Taylor W.
Yes ive gotten to meet a few people like that and that is how i learned to not trust just any body who appears in my life...
Maritza Cortez P. 1
Unfortuantely yes i have had that happen to me. A guy i once considered my friend showed me a side of him i never even imagined existed. He acts like nothing happened and were still fine but were not. His behavior still haunts me to this day and i'll never be able to trust him again. That is all i can say on the subject.
-Christy McCallister Period 2
On Youtube, i'm subscribed to a channel I used to watch frequently. I legitimately liked his work a nd channel and thought he was a laughable person. That was until my other subs began to talk about how much pf a sellout he was. He was constanly asking his subs for likes and favorties on his videos and I never even noticed how often he asked. On top of this, I assumed his life had a;ways been generally pleasant considering the way he constanly was laughing and telling jokes. It turns out his parents died when he was younger, he had recently gotten of of marijuana, and he had recently been robbed. ~Niye Turner period 2
This did happen to me. There was this guy that I used to know; we basicly grew up together and were even considered to be brother and sister. Once we got to middle school everything changed. He started to act like he didn't know me anymore. I was sad at first, but then it didnt bother me anymore.
~Gaby Gallegos Period 2
This has never happened to me because in my opinion people can change if they want to. Its part of life to mature and change your views once in a while. Plus i dont care if they change for the worst because its not my problem
-Fernando Morales period 1
I can't say that this has ever happened to me because the people i am closest to obviously are closest to me for a reason and its not that the ones that were close to me changed it is just they found new people to hang out with or what not so that is their own deal.
-Matthew Orona, P.1
My best friend from third grade honestly change in highschool. We were close, but she started to act different. We stopped hanging out, but i guess we all change at a certain point and we can't keep them from changing
- Yanet Nunez Per. 1
This has happened to me. In elementary school we were the best of friends, but everything changed when we went to middle school. Now, because she had school with family members and family friends, she acted differently. She wasn't much fun to be with anymore, and eventually we drifted apart.
-Amanda Gaba Period 1
No I have not experienced this, and I am glad I have not. There are probably only 2 or 3 people that I am really close too, and they have always been there for me.
-Iris G. Period 1
this happened to me in middle school i thought she was my bestfriend but then high school came and she completly changed. acted totally different and eventually we just drifted apart
-Serena L. P.2
Week of Jan. 3
(Wait until we finish the play on Wednesday.)
What was your favorite scene in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"? Briefly explain why.
My favorite part of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is when the mechanical preform their play. One their bad acting is funny enough. The fact they sit there and try to explain everything to the audience and that they didn't know their cues. I think what I really enjoyed about it was that the audience were making fun of it. I guess I just appreciated their use of sarcasm.
- Amanda Gaba Period 1
My favorite part of "A midsummer Night's Dream" is when robin messes up on the love potion part because of the fact that he tried to control the power of love and he messed it up. One it was amazing to see all the destructiveness take place. Two it was nice to see some drama. and Three it proves that you cannot control the power of love.
~Alyssa Aguilar P.2
My favorite part of "A midsummer nights dream" is probably the scene dylan had to act out, that was done very well i might add. where the actor is speaking and then explains to the audience i found it prettyfunny.
Kevin Duran P.2
My favorite part of " A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when bottom was turned into an ass. They were all practicing and he was played a joke on from the fairies. It gave the novel a good sense of humor and it was funny how he did not know at first that was an ass.
-Mark Galvan Per. 1
My favorite part of " Midsummer Night's Dream" was when the mechanicals were doing the play. They were so awful at it, they talked to the audience which is usually what is not supposed to happen. They even said they were dead when they fell on the ground and repeated the word die.
Yanet Nunez Per.1
My favorite part of "Midsummer Nights dream" was when the play within the play occured. It was interesting to be able to read and know both sides of the story. Have the thoughts of actors aswell as the audience. It was also funny because they thought the did the most "Amazing" job when in reality they were being laughed at.
-Yasmin Serrano, Period 2
My favorite part of "Midsummer Night's Dream" was the Mechanical's play. The mechanical's acting was horrible and extremely funny. When the actor killed himself and kept on talking after he was "dead" i couldn't help but laugh. I also thought the malapropism of the words "devoured" and "deflowered" and many other parts were funny as well.
-Christy McCallister Period. 2
My favorite part of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when the love potion was given to the wrong people, and Lysander and Demetrius fall in love with Helena. It was pretty funny watching them "insult" Hermia.
-Andrina S, Period 1
My favorite part of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when there was the play within the play. It was my favorite part because i found it to be very funny because the play waas hoirrlbe. and it made me laugh
- Serena L. P.2
My favorite part had to be when the play was happening during the play. I thought it was pretty funny how badly the Mechanicals were performing. I especially liked it because of how they would talk to the audience and do everything that real actors aren't suppose to do.
-Cheyanne Ervin P.2
My favorite part of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was the play within the play because it was funny to watch acted out and I found it pretty bad because it had no reason in it.
-Esteban Ojeda P.1
My favorite part of "a Midsummer Night's Dream" was when Bottom was turned into an ass and when Robin messed up the love potion then there was also when they had the play within the play. I actually liked several parts of the books because even though it was about love it had that sense of humor so then the book wouldnt be so serious like how Romeo and Juliette is.
-Julie Cameron, Period 1
My favorite part of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was when Demetrius woke up and was suddenly in love with Helena when he had just spent the night with Hermia. This is my favorite part because this scene was just all mixed up and didn't really make sense.
Lauren P. Period 1
